Best Blank for DTG
Cotton bases that print sharp

For DTG, print on 100% ring-spun cotton. The combed surface holds fine detail and the cotton fibers take pretreat and ink the way DTG needs, so colors stay vivid and dark-garment underbases lay flat. Bella+Canvas 3001 and Comfort Colors 1717 are the go-to retail picks; Gildan 64000 Softstyle is the lower-cost ring-spun option.

Why cotton, not blends
DTG ink and pretreat bond to cotton fibers. On a high-polyester blend the pretreat sits unevenly and dark-garment prints lose pop, so 100% cotton is the safe base every time. A cotton/poly blend can work for a soft vintage look, but the cotton content needs to lead.
Ring-spun beats open-end for detail
Ring-spun cotton is combed and twisted into a smoother yarn, so small text and fine gradients render cleanly. Open-end (carded) cotton is rougher, which softens fine detail. For a photoreal DTG print, pay up for ring-spun.
