The vintage drape

Tri-blend is cotton, polyester, and rayon knit together, typically 50/25/25 with poly leading. The rayon gives it the softest drape and most lived-in heather look in the wall, which is exactly why fashion merch buys it.

Best for
Fashion retail (band merch, boutique brands, athleisure) where soft and drape justify the highest tee price on the wall.
Watch out
The most demanding mainstream fabric on press; poly migrates dye when overheated and rayon scorches, so gently with low-cure inks.
Anchor styles
Next Level 6010 and Bella+Canvas 3413, the two category standards.

What it actually is

The standard recipe is 50% polyester, 25% ring-spun cotton, 25% rayon. Polyester carries durability and the heather effect, cotton adds breathability, and rayon (a semi-synthetic cellulose fiber) contributes the fluid, slinky drape no two-fiber fabric matches.

These are light, fine-gauge fabrics: the Bella+Canvas 3413 runs at 40 , the Next Level 6010 runs at 32 . Expect a thinner, stretchier garment than a comparable cotton tee.

How it prints

Tri-blend is the most demanding mainstream fabric on press. The 50% poly content migrates dye when overheated, and rayon scorches more easily than cotton, so gently and cure with low-cure inks (additives can bring down to around 275°F, near the bottom of the migration window).

Lean into the fabric instead of fighting it: thin ink deposits, , or . strips the cotton and reacts unevenly on the rayon, while the polyester holds its color, so the result reads as a built-in vintage fade, the exact and look tri-blend buyers want.

When to choose it

Choose tri-blend for fashion retail: band merch, boutique brands, athleisure, anywhere soft and drape justify the highest tee price on the wall. It is the wrong blank for bright, opaque spot color or customers who want a substantial-feeling shirt.

The Next Level 6010 and Bella+Canvas 3413 are the two category standards; the 3413 is softer and lighter, the 6010 slightly heavier with a more standard knit.
