100% polyester is performance territory: moisture-wicking, fast-drying, shrink-resistant, and the only fabric sublimation bonds to. It is also the fabric most likely to ruin a print run if you cure it like cotton.

Best for
Athletics and outdoor wear (team uniforms, race shirts, gym merch) and the mandatory base for all-over sublimation.
Watch out
The poly's disperse dyes re-gas across the standard cure; print low-bleed or low-cure inks and block darks, or ruins the run.

What it actually is

Polyester is a synthetic fiber that absorbs almost no water, so sweat wicks to the surface and evaporates instead of soaking in. That is the basis of every performance tee. It holds its shape and color through washing and resists the shrinking that cotton suffers.

Performance blanks run light: the Team 365 TT11 Zone Performance tee is polyester interlock with moisture-wicking and UV 40+ protection, the typical value-performance spec.

How it prints

Polyester is dyed with disperse dyes (the same family sublimation uses), and they re-gas anywhere from about 260°F to 340°F, squarely across the standard ~320°F cure. The result is : garment dye bleeding up through the ink, sometimes days later. Print low-bleed or low-cure inks (270–300°F), use a blocker or poly-white on darks, and cure low and slow.

Sublimation, the flip side, only works here: the dye becomes part of the fiber for a zero- , edge-to-edge print, but only on polyester and only on white or light colors. DTF transfers handle poly well at lower press temps; DTG mostly does not.

When to choose it

Choose polyester for athletics and outdoor wear: team uniforms, race shirts, gym merch, staff polos in hot climates. The wicking story sells itself, and the per-piece price on value lines like Team 365 keeps team budgets happy.

It's also the mandatory answer when the job is all-over sublimation. Just quote the extra ink and cost on dark poly screen-print jobs up front.
