Yupoong

Yupoong is the Korean headwear manufacturer (founded 1974 in Seoul) behind both the YP Classics line and the Flexfit brand. In the US trade its style numbers are shorthand for entire hat categories; if a customer asks for "a classic snapback" or "a retro trucker," they usually mean a Yupoong.

The styles that matter

The 6089M Classic Snapback is the defining flat-bill: structured six-panel, high-profile crown, 80/20 acrylic/wool in most solids, with the signature green undervisor and a plastic snap closure. It has been the default streetwear-cap blank for over a decade.

The 6606 Retro Trucker is the other essential: structured mid-profile with a solid front and mesh back, and the go-to leather-patch base whenever the Richardson 112 is backordered or the fit calls for it. Between these two and the curved-bill classics, Yupoong covers most cap orders a shop will see.

Decoration: this is embroidery territory

Caps are embroidery and patch work, not print work. The 6089M's tall, structured front panel is ideal for flat and 3D puff embroidery; the 6606's front panels take embroidery or sewn/heat-applied patches, but the mesh back rules out dense back-of-cap stitching.

Wool-blend and acrylic crowns hoop predictably on cap frames, which is part of why embroiderers standardize on these numbers. Plan designs around the front-panel arch and keep puff for bold, simple shapes.

When to choose Yupoong

Spec Yupoong when the order is fashion or merch headwear: snapbacks for a clothing line, patch truckers for a brewery or outfitter. Consistency across reorders is the brand's quiet strength; panel shape and fit don't drift between production runs, which matters once a logo placement is dialed in.
