Shaka Wear is an LA brand that started out supplying the local streetwear scene and rode the market's shift to heavyweight, boxy tees into national wholesale distribution. When a client asks for a thick, oversized, drop-shoulder blank (the silhouette that defines current merch), Shaka's max-heavyweight line is the trade's go-to answer.

Best for
Briefs that say heavyweight, boxy, or streetwear: drops built around the oversized drop-shoulder silhouette.
Watch out
Check colorway blends before quoting: heather grey is 90/10 and charcoal 50/50, so those need low-bleed handling.
Anchor styles
SHMHSS Max Heavyweight tee, SHGDD garment-dye.

The styles that matter

The SHMHSS Max Heavyweight tee is the hero: , 100% USA cotton, 16- yarn, in a relaxed, oversized cut with a slight drop shoulder. The matching Garment Dye line covers the washed vintage look in shades like cement, clay, and moss, pre-washed so it arrives shrink-stable.

Extended sizing runs deep (standard sizes plus a dedicated 2XL–5XL range), which matters for streetwear drops.

Fabric & print behavior

The dense 16- knit is a stable, flat print surface that carries heavy , puff, and high-density work the way thin retail tees cannot, and the quarter-turned body means no center crease through your print area. It also takes vinyl and DTF transfers cleanly.

Check colorway blends before quoting: heather grey is 90/10 and charcoal grey runs 50/50 cotton/poly, so those need low-bleed handling. On the garment-dye line, standard pigment-dye care applies. Moderate cure temps, and shade variation between pieces is normal.

When to choose Shaka Wear

Quote Shaka when the brief says heavyweight, boxy, or streetwear. It's a different garment than a Comfort Colors 1717, which is lighter at with a classic relaxed fit rather than a true oversized drop-shoulder cut. The blank's structure lets a printed tee retail at streetwear prices, so the per-unit premium over a standard blank usually pays for itself. For brands building a drop around the silhouette, this is the category specialist.
